摘 要：This talk is about counting and equidistribution of periodic diagonal orbits on Gamma\G. I will start with the classic case of periodic geodesics on the unit tangent bundle of the modular curve T^1(SL(2,Z)\H)=SL(2,Z)\SL(2,R). There are works of Margulis, Bowen from dynamic side and works of Selberg, Sarnak from spectral theory and number theory side. Then I will talk about its generalization to the higher rank case, periodic diagonal orbits on SL(d,Z)\SL(d,R). If time permits, I will also discuss its generalization to infinite volume hyperbolic manifolds.
