Title: Coble type hypersurfaces

Abstract: The Coble cubics and quartics are very special hypersurfaces discovered by Coble in the first half of the 20th century. Their singular locus are closely related to abelian surfaces and threefolds, hence to the geometry of algebraic curves of low genus. I will present an approach through Lie theory that provides new perspectives on these hypersurfaces, and allows to produce more instances of hypersurfaces with very special singular locus.
