Title: Non-asphericity of strata of genus-one differentials and stability spaces

Abstract: I will explain a connection between complex hyperplane arrangements and strata of genus-one differentials. This connection allows us to prove non-asphericity results for such strata, providing infinitely many counterexamples to a conjecture attributed to Kontsevich, as well as to a folklore expectation concerning the contractibility of spaces of Bridgeland stability conditions. This is joint work with Dawei Chen, Yu Qiu, and Fei Yu.
