Abstract:
The idea of the lectures is to present methods which can be used to classify manifolds, mainly in dimension 4 and higher. I will start by getting a picture of the background of the audience and will start just from there. In the end I hope to enable the audience to read some of the most important papers concerning the classification of manifolds and to prove new classification theorems themselves.
