摘 要：The gauge group is, by definition, the topological group of automorphisms of a given principal bundle. Its homotopy theory is now rapidly developing and there are a plenty of results on the homotopy types of gauge groups. However, there are only a few results on the classifying space of a gauge group which is more important in geometry and topology. I will give a survey on the known facts on the homotopy type of the classifying space of a gauge group and will present a recent result on its mod p homology which is joint work with S. Theriault.
