题 目:Backward uniqueness for parabolic equations and the Landis-Oleinik conjecture

摘 要:The backward uniqueness (BU) property is an interesting phenomenon of parabolic equations. In this talk, we first introduce the BU problem for the heat equation in cones. It is conjectured that BU holds when the angle of the cone is larger than 90 degree and fails when it is less than 90 degree. We prove a result for this interesting problem. Then we establish the BU result for general parabolic equations. At last we introduce the Landis-Oleinik conjecture, which is closely related to the BU problem for parabolic equations. We prove it under reasonable assumptions of the coefficients. This is a joint work with professor Liqun Zhang.
