摘 要:The validity of the weak cosmic censorship conjecture (WCCC) is a remaining problem in classical general relativity. Recently, Sorce and Wald proposed a new gedanken experiment to test the WCCC of Kerr-Newman black holes under the second-order approximation of perturbation. A natural question is whether the WCCC is also valid when the background spacetime couples to any matter hairs. In our investigation, we extend Sorce-Wald method to the cases without the explicit expressions of the background metric and the Lagrangian of the matter hairs. As a result, we find that a nearly extremal static spherically symmetric black hole in Einstein gravity cannot be destroyed under the second-order approximation as long as the background matter hairs and perturbation matter fields satisfy the null energy condition.
