  要:It is known that energy subcritical defocusing semilinear wave equation admits global classical solutions for sufficiently smooth initial data. However, the precise asymptotics is not such clear particularly when the power of the nonlinearity is small. In this talk, I will review the study of global dynamics of the solutions. By introducing new weighted vector fields as multipliers, we obtain improved time decay of the potential energy. Consequently, we derive pointwise decay instead of uniform boundedness for the solution with subquadratic nonlinearity. This is based on joint work with Dongyi Wei.
