摘  要：Recurrence is a basic notion in dynamical systems. In this talk the result on the existence of multiply recurrent points with some given properties which refines van der Waerden’s theorem will be presented. Moreover, the very recent results on piecewise syndetic subsets and integral polynomials will be discussed. Both results are obtained by using the nilpotent structures in dynamical systems.The talk is based on joint works with Glasner-Huang-Shao-Weiss, and Huang-Shao.

个人简介：叶向东，中国科学技术大学教授, 长期从事基础数学中拓扑动力系统、遍历理论及其应用的研究。他与合作者在动力系统的结构定理、多重遍历平均的收敛、熵的理论、动力系统的复杂性及其在组合数论中的应用等方面进行了深入研究并得到了一系列深刻的结果。叶向东2013年获第十四届陈省身数学奖、2018年获国家自然科学二等奖、2019年当选中国科学院院士、2020年获得何梁何利科学与技术进步奖。
