摘  要：In Riemannian geometry, a fundamental problem involves understanding the relationship between locally defined curvatures and the global properties of smooth manifolds. Scalar curvature serves as a weak invariant of local geometry. The positive scalar curvature condition imposes topological and geometric constraints. In this talk, I will provide a survey of such topological and geometric restrictions on open 3-manifolds and open 4-manifolds.
