摘 要：In this talk, I will discuss the dynamical stability of white dwarfs beneath the Chandraskhar limit: 1) for the orbit stability for inviscid theory (based on the joint with J. Smoller) from the energy minimizing point of view for both rotating and non-rotating star steady solutions, 2)and the nonlinear asymptotic stability of non-rotating solutions for the viscous theory in the framework of vacuum free boundary problem with symmetry based on the recent joint work with Y. Wang and H. Zeng, motivated by the previous work of Luo-Xin-Zeng for the polytropes for $4/3<\gamma<2$.
