摘 要：The Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category O for a complex semisimple Lie algebra g has played a big role in representation theory over the last 50 years. In this talk we introduce for any prime p a characteristic p version O_p of this category. We discuss results about simple modules, tilting modules, and projective/injective modules in O_p. In particular, it turns out that there is a Steinberg tensor product theorem for simple modules in O_p which can be used to find all simple characters in this category from a finite set of finite dimensional simple modules for the algebraic group G in characteristic p corresponding to g.
