Title: Morphisms in derived categories realized as chain maps
Abstract: It is well-known that in the derived category of an abelian category, if X is a above bounded complex of projective objects, then every morphism from X to some complex Y in the derived category can be presented by chain maps. This is of course not true for general complexes. However, in this talk, we shall see that this is true for above bounded complex X and below bounded complex Y provided that certain mild orthogonality conitions are satisfied. Particularly, we will show that Verdier's map is an isomorphism for many complexes. This is a joint work with Ziheng Liu.

Title: Representations of finite groups: old and new problems
Abstract: Recently, there has been breakthrough progress on the local-global conjectures in the representation theory of finite groups. In particular, the famous McKay Conjecture, Brauer's Height Zero Conjecture and Robson's Conjecture have been completely proved. This would immediately lead to a question: what's next in the area? In this talk, I will talk about an old conjecture of Brauer and some of our new problems put forward in the last few years.
