Title: Geometric structures arising from minimal rational curves

Abstract: Indicated by the Cartan-Fubini type extension theorem, the geometry of  
Fano manifolds of Picard number one can be determined by  the local VMRT-structures.
 Roughly speaking, the VMRT is the variety of projectivized tangent directions of
 minimal rational curves. It is observed that VMRT-structure is itself a geometric sturcture.
 In this talk, we would like to discuss the geometric structures arising from minimal 
rational curves and also its applications to the geometry of Fano manifolds. This talk is
 based on joint works with Jun-Muk Hwang.
