Title: Motivic multiplicativity of complete intersections

Abstract: Inspired by the Bloch-Beilinson philosophy for Chow groups, it is interesting to determine for which varieties their Chow groups are bi-graded, or more generally, their Chow motives have canonical Chow-Kunneth decomposition just as the case of abelian varieties. In this talk, we show that any Fano or Calabi-Yau complete intersection has a multiplicative splitting, that is, admits a self-dual multiplicative Chow-Kunneth decomposition. As a consequence, the third relative power of the corresponding universal families satisfy the generalized Franchetta conjecture.
