Abstract:In this talk, we are concerned with the barotropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosities. Firstly, for the weak solutions to IBVP with Navier-slip boundary conditions, we obtain the global existence of weak solutions for general initial data. Secondly, for the strong solutions to Cauchy problem, we establish the global existence of strong solutions as long as the initial data is large enough. This is a big contrast to the classical results where the initial data is a small perturbation of some resting states. This is a joint work with Prof. Xiangdi Huang and Dr. Jiaxu Li.
