Abstract:Loewner energy arises from the interplay between probabilistic and deterministic worlds, which measures how a chord deviates from the hyperbolic geodesic in upper half plane.  Conformal welding is a tool to characterize the geometry of a chord (slit, or Jordan curve), and it lives in the boundary version. In this talk, we will review chord Loewner energy and Loewner differential equation and use these tools to study the Weil--Petersson geometry of quasi-slit disk. This is a joint work with Fei Tao and Huaying Wei.
