TitleOn the sigma-2 equation and the scalar curvature equation in dimension 4

Abstract: The problem of interior Hessian estimates and regularity for the sigma-2 equation is a longstanding open problem. Recently, Shankar and Yuan made a breakthrough on this problem in dimension 4. In this talk, I will briefly review Shankar and Yuans result, introduce its generalization, and present related results for the 4-dimensional scalar curvature (sigma-2 curvature) equation. This is based on the joint work with Ravi Shankar.
