Abstract: HIV latent reservoirs represent one of the major obstacles to an HIV cure, providing a “safe haven” for the virus to evade both antiretroviral drugs and host immune surveillance. In this talk, we present several dynamic models characterizing the synergistic interactions between HIV latent reservoirs and host cellular and humoral immunity, including stochastic delay models and age-structured models. We analyze the well-posedness, global persistence, and stability of the proposed models. By calibrating the models with clinical data, we investigate optimal antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens and elucidate the underlying immunological mechanisms.
