题  目：Finite covers and mapping classes of surfaces

摘 要:

In this talk, I will give an introduction to some recent development in the study of surfaces and their mapping classes. More specifically, we consider lifts of mapping classes to finite covers of surfaces. We discuss to what extent one can expect to understand a mapping class by looking at their behavior on finite covers.

刘毅教授简介:

刘毅，北京国际数学研究中心副教授，2006年本科毕业于北大，2012年在加州大学伯克利分校获博士学位，而后在加州理工任Taussky-Todd 讲师，2015年全职回北京国际数学研究中心。主要研究领域是低维拓扑，课题涉及三维流形、双曲几何等。因其杰出研究工作，他曾在美国加州大学伯克利分校获得 Herb Alexander Prize，2017年获“求是杰出青年学者奖”。
