Ill-posedness of free boundary problem of the incompressible ideal MHD

Abstract: In this talk, we show the ill-posedness of the free boundary problem of the incompressible ideal magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations in two spatial dimensions with suitable large vacuum permeability $\mu_0$, in Sobolev spaces. The analysis is uniform for large $\mu_0$. This talk is based on the joint work with Prof. T. Luo.
