Zhou Xiangyu received his Ph. D. degree from Institute of Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1990. Since 1998, he has been a full Professor of the Institute of Mathematics at CAS, where he was the Director of the Institute (2003-2012). He was the vice Chairman of the Chinese Mathematical Society(2008-2011).
