摘 要:
Beauty is everywhere in mathematics, not just in the patterns we see formulated in theorems and conjectures, but also in the mental devices we use to rigorously establish these patterns. This talk is a journey through the study of Dynamics on Moduli Spaces that will touch upon some of these beautiful gems in Ergodic Theory and attempt to connect them to more classical ones in Number Theory.
张翼华教授简介:
Professor Yitwah Cheung grew up in Denmark, graduating from Copenhagen International School in 1991. After graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995 with a double major in mathematics and physics he concentrated on mathematics, obtaining his masters in 1997 and PhD in 2000, both from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was Assistant Professor at Northwestern University from 2000-2005 and then on tenure-track at San Francisco State University (2005-2018) where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and Full Professor in 2015. He moved to Tsinghua University in 2018 as a member of the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center. He currently serves as the managing editor of Pure and Applied Mathematics Quarterly, since 2019; previously, he served as an editor of Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - Series A (2012-2019).
