摘  要：The moduli space of smooth cubic fourfolds is a open subset of  20-dimensional  locally symmetric variety of Type IV. It has geometric invariant theory (GIT) compactification and Baily-Borel compactification. The period map of cubic fourfolds induces a birational map between these two compactifications. In this talk, I will explain how to use Laza's work on a explicit resolution of the birational map and BBDG's decomposition theorem to compute cohomology of these compact moduli spaces of cubic fourfolds.
