Title: Long-time behavior of the 2D Navier-Stokes equations near the Couette flow

Abstract:This talk concerns on the long-time behavior of solutions to the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with initial data near the Couette flow. We focus on general perturbations, which may be large and of low regularity, and show that the vorticity asymptotically approaches a constant multiple of the fundamental solution to the linearized equation after a long-time evolution determined by the relative Reynolds number. Also, we make a comparison between the results on the whole plane and the half plane.
