Title: GIT and Stretched Kostka Quasipolynomials.

Abstract: Stretched Kostka quasipolynomials describe the growth of weight spaces in irreducible representations under simultaneous scaling. We study these from the perspective of Geometric Invariant Theory. In particular, using the GIT machinery we confirm a conjecture of Gao and Gao on the precise degrees of Kostka Quasipolynomials with a geometric proof. Time permitting, I will discuss some open questions and ongoing work towards extending these results to Demazure modules.
